Drying Process:
Flowers:
Red flowers will turn a burgundy color, purple or sometimes even a brown color. Pinks can darken and whites tend to become cream colored or yellowish. Please understand we have no control over the color changing process that will occur.
Greenery:
Some greenery will turn dark. Some greenery will look slightly rippled once they have been dried. Preserved Keepsakes can use greenery from our inventory to replace damaged flowers and greenery for your precious keepsake.
Flowers that fall apart:
As we pull flowers from the silica gel we do it with the utmost care but some flowers will always fall apart. We have to then piece them back together again. We will do every thing possible we can to piece back a flower but there are times when a flower completely falls apart. We can replace or replicate damaged flowers from our inventory. Should this issue occur, we will discuss how best to proceed with the best course of action with your approval. Preserved Keepsakes understands how precious these flowers are and we will do everything in our power to help you get the keepsake you dreamed of.

Resin Pouring Process:
Resin pieces are hand made and will have some small flaws.
Resin can color enhance:
Once the resin touches a flower or piece of greenery the colors can vary from the original color of your flower.
Bubbles or Water droplets:
Micro bubbles will always be present. They also look like water droplets which are natural for flowers. These droplets form around the edges of the floral pieces. They form on the top of the flowers as air releases because they are organic matter. We will do everything we can to minimize the amount of bubbles or water droplets, but please understand that micro bubbles will occur. These bubbles or water droplets are natural and part of the curing process and add to the beauty and realistic look of your beautiful floral preservation.
Flowers are porous:
Especially roses. When the resin penetrates a thinner part of the rose petal or flower petal, the petal may become translucent. This may happen from bruising. This will not be known until the preservation phase has been complete. Please understand your flowers are delicate and no two are the same.
Not all floral pieces are flat on top:
Some small parts of a flower may be taller than the 3" mold we use. It does not happen often but this can happen. All flowers will be fully saturated in resin, If any parts of a flower are exposed above the resin block it will be up to the customer to decide if they wish their flower protected or left open and covered with resin.
Not all flowers can be dried using silica gel:
Succulents are famous for not drying enough in silica gel. Some flowers can not be dried in silica gel.
Yellowing of resin:
With all hand made art please keep your preserved resin wedding bouquet away from direct sunlight. Keep away from windows as UV light can cause mild yellowing of your preserved keepsake. We take extra precautions to prevent this but it does happen. When considering a place to display your keepsake a cool and dry place away from sunlight is imperative. Many people choose to display their preserved keepsake on a living room table, piano, fireplace mantle, bookshelf, curio cabinet or bedroom side table.
