Welcome to Preserved Keepsakes! My name is Linda lead designer and my passion is to transform wedding and special occasion bouquets into a beautiful lasting keepsake. Our team specialize in design and create unique preserved floral shadow boxes for the wedding industry.

A shadow box preservation is a custom hand made art piece that reflects your unique style and all the delicate details of your beautiful bridal flowers. Your preserved bouquet is an elegant, timeless memory of your wedding day for you to enjoy for a lifetime.
Creating your shadowbox involves hours of preparation to the highest standards and is truly a labor of love. Preserving your wedding bouquet flowers is a detailed and delicate process. Each step has its own unique challenges and no two bouquets are alike.
The process begins when we receive your wedding bouquet either by drop off or courier. Your order is not just another number. We know how important your flowers are to you! First step is to photograph your bridal bouquet from various angles immediately upon arrival. Your wedding bouquet, wedding flower arrangements and other special flowers that were part of your special day are then dis-assembled before the flower preservation process can begin. Each delicate flower is separated from their stem. Each flower is preserved individually. This allows each shadowbox flower to maintain their shape and keep most of their vibrant color.

All flowers and trinkets (including invitations, pictures, pins, ribbon, and bouquet jewelry) are recorded and an inventory is created. Your flowers are then re-hydrated if needed. Once your shadow box flowers are re-hydrated the flowers are now ready for dehydration and preservation. Your flowers are carefully dehydrated. Silica gel is one of the best methods in preserving the beauty and color of the flowers. This process usually takes 2-4 weeks, depending on the type of flower being preserved.
Please note: the colors of the flowers usually deepen during the preservation process. Reds, pinks and purples will darken. Whites tend to become cream colored and yellowish. Damaged flowers such as wilted, bruised, discolored or crushed petals cannot be preserved to our exacting standards. The petals of some of the flowers may become translucent. This will not be known until the preservation phase has been completed. Replacement flowers can be purchased from us if some of the blooms are too damaged to preserve. Not all flowers are suitable to be dried with silica gel.
Once your flowers have been throughly dehydrated they are removed from the silica gel. The flowers are inspected and only the best are chosen to be put in your shadow box. Your beautiful flowers are sprayed with a preservation sealant. This is done flower by flower. This step will add preservation and extra protection to your delicate flowers from moisture.
The next step is to rebuild your bouquet in to a shadow box and watch it become a work of art! You will be involved with the desigining process. You and our design team will discuss your thoughts and ideas of what you would like your shadow box to look like. Notes and sketches will be made and at this point and a layout will be designed for your approval.
We will happily incorporate your special mementos inside your shadow box along with your flowers. Invitations, photos, wedding favors, shoes and any other keepsakes can be added to your shadowbox. Your design consultant Linda will work with you and advise you on what type of keepsake will work best for your flowers and keepsakes. We love to create a beautiful layout which is uniquely personalized to your specific needs. Once your layout has been approved you will receive your invoice for the remaining balance to be paid in full. Upon payment your keepsake will begin to be completed.

During this step each flower will be placed where it belongs according to the design specified during your approval. This part of the process is the most time time consuming and will take several detailed hours.
You will be notified when your order is ready for pick up and it meets our high standards of craftsmanship. Because the flowers are so delicate we do not ship our Shadow Boxes. They are only available to be picked up or hand delivered by our bouquet drop off service for an additional fee of $50. Not sure how to ship your bouquet to us... more details here.

Please fill out the box below specifying your product and leave a message to check availability. If your date is available a $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date. This deposit will be applied to the total investment at the time of final payment which is due once your layout has been approved. Once you reserve your date a confirmation email will be sent along with an information kit that will answer all of your questions like how to prepare for bouquet for preservation etc. Order timeline is 20-24 weeks. May be longer in peak season.
