Preparing Your Bouquet for Shipping
Ship or Hand Deliver your wedding bouquet
The day has finally arrived... your wedding day! You have said your I do's and taken all your beautiful pictures. Now its time for you to gather with your family and friends to celebrate. This is a perfect time to get your wedding bouquet flowers in some water. This will help keep the flowers fresh and stop them from wilting. If possible keep them in fresh water for the rest of the night.
Once home keep those flowers hydrated. If your bouquet has a floral block inside the bouquet holder pour some fresh water over the floral foam. If your wedding bouquet is hand tied gently unwrap some of the ribbon from the bottom of the bouquet. Cut 1/2" of stem off the bottom on a angle. Place the wedding flowers in a vase with 1" of water in it. DO NOT spray the bouquet. Keep your bouquet in a cool, dry place until it is ready to be dropped off or shipped to our location. DO NOT place your bouquet in the freezer. This will damage the blooms and make them unable to preserve.
If your wedding is within driving distance to London Ontario, we will provide you with an address to drop off your bouquet Sunday morning. The sooner we receive your flowers the better quality product we can hand craft for you. For an additional fee of $50.00 we will come pick up your bouquet the day after your wedding in London. Out of town, ask us whether we pick up in your city.
Shipping Your Bridal Bouquet
If you are shipping your bouquet please ship overnight delivery or 1 day shipping. The sooner we receive your bouquet the sooner we can start the preservation process and ensure you receive our highest quality product.
You will need:
- large box to accommodate your bouquet
- 2-4 Freezer packs or frozen water bottles placed inside a zip lock bag. If these are not available put ice cubes inside zip lock bags. Double bag these to ensure they don't break. If the shipping box becomes wet your box may not be shipped by the courier company.
- plastic wrap or foil
- packing paper or newspaper and Styrofoam chips
- Duct tape
- Paper towel
Wrap the stems of your bouquet with wet paper towel and then wrap plastic wrap or foil around the wet paper towel. Secure with a rubber band. If your flowers are in floral foam make sure that the foam is very moist. Secure two freezer packs with duck tape (so they can not move) at the bottom of the shipping box. Fill the box half way with packing paper, newspaper or Styrofoam chips covering the freezer packs. Gently and loosely wrap bubble wrap around your bouquet to protect your delicate flowers. Don't tightly wrap your bouquet in the plastic as your flowers will wilt and rot. Do not put in a plastic bag! Leave the top of the bouquet open so the flowers can breathe. Place your whole bouquet on top of the packing paper or foam chips. Secure the two remaining freezer packs to either sides of the bouquet (not the top and bottom). Fill the remaining box up with Styrofoam chips and packing paper so that the bridal bouquet wont bounce around in the shipping box. Please include any mementos for your Shadow Box order in a zip lock bag. Don't forget to include your full name and wedding date in the box so we know its you! Seal the box up securely and label 'FRAGILE - DO NOT CRUSH" on all sides of your box. Once your order has been dropped off at the courier please email your tracking numbers to us so we know your bridal bouquet is on the way!
